|  | Yamaha pro angler and local favorite Scott Suggs captured the number one position in the first day of the Forrest Wood Cup finals today in Hot Springs, Ark.
Suggs caught his limit of five bass, which weighed in at 11 pounds even. He leads the next closest competitor in the competition by 4 pounds, 1 ounce.
Yamaha-powered anglers David Dudley, Darrel Robertson, Bryan Thrift, Clark Wendlandt and John Devere are also competing in the final top ten for the million dollar prize.
The top ten will compete again on Sunday for the first-ever $1 million Forrest Wood Cup championship, the biggest prize in the history of the sport. The cumulative weights from today and tomorrow's competitions will results in the naming of the 2007 FLW Forrest Wood Cup champion.
Yamaha V MAX(R) HPDI outboards continue to support the anglers as they move through the final phases of the tournament. This year, 37 of the 81 boats that originally qualified for the championship were powered by Yamaha outboards.  |
