Yamaha, the Official ATV and Side-by-Side (SxS) Vehicle of Safari Club International (SCI), recently joined more than 1,100 exhibitors including outfitters, outdoor product manufacturers, gun makers, wildlife artists and many others for the 35th SCI Annual Hunters’ Convention.  The show, which brought together more than 22,000 participants from six continents, ran from January 24-27 in Reno, Nevada.

The annual convention is the SCI’s largest fund raiser each year.  This year the event included more than 700,000 square feet of exhibit space with a wide range of products including all types of hunting and outdoor gear from some of the world’s top companies.  Yamaha, exhibiting for its second consecutive year, was again the sole ATV and SxS vehicle manufacturer on hand.  The company proudly displayed its 2007 Grizzly 700 FI Auto. 4x4 Outdoorsman Edition and 2007 Rhino 660 Auto. 4x4 Ducks Unlimited Edition, both of which come ready to hunt complete with the necessary accessories.  Crowds of visitors passed through the Yamaha booth throughout the four-day show to learn about these and other Yamaha ATVs on display.

“Yamaha is proud to support the SCI, its members and the industry as a whole,” said Steve Nessl, Yamaha ATV/SxS PR Manager who was at the SCI Convention.  “Yamaha makes the vehicles best suited for the sportsman who works and plays in the outdoors.  I personally hunt with a lot of guys I see at this show, and we take out Yamaha’s every time.”

The SCI’s annual convention is far more than a consumer trade show.  Each year auctions and entertainment run throughout the event, and this year alone Jim Belushi and the Sacred Hearts Band, Larry Csonka, Collin Raye and Sean Hannity all took their turn on the evening stage.  And daily auctions, both silent and live, raised funds that will support the Club’s efforts the rest of the year and beyond.

Next year’s convention is already set for January 23-26, 2008, back in Reno, where Yamaha will once again be showing off the newest ATV and SxS vehicles.
