| | Ducks Unlimited, a leader in conserving wetlands across North America, celebrated its 70th anniversary this May 23-27 in Anchorage, Alaska at its 2007 National Convention.
This was a special edition of the popular annual event attracting approximately 1,200 members who enjoyed an agenda of educational and inspirational meetings, as well as a full menu of exciting parties, tours and side trips.
The main event was the Saturday night live auction, which raised close to $200,000 including funds from a new 2007 Rhino 660 Auto. 4x4 Ducks Unlimited Edition or 2007 Grizzly 700 FI 4x4 Auto. Ducks Unlimited Edition donated by Yamaha.
Each DU Edition Yamaha comes ready to hunt and features the waterfowler-friendly Realtree MAX4 camo pattern. Michael Simang, of Giddings, Texas, won the Yamaha auction and will get to decide between the two vehicles. The Yamaha vehicles were so popular that DU purchased an additional unit to award to a very enthusiastic second place bidder, with a significant portion of those funds going to DU as well.
