| | Yamaha, maker of the toughest, most capable ATV and Side-by-Side (SxS) vehicles, is also the leading ATV and SxS vehicle manufacturer for outdoor enthusiasts. And in showing that support, Yamaha set up at the Safari Club International’s (SCI) 36th Annual Hunters Convention in Reno, Nevada.
Yamaha is the official ATV and SxS vehicle of SCI as well as a corporate sponsor of the organization. The SCI is the leader in protecting the freedom to hunt and in promoting wildlife conservation worldwide.
The SCI’s annual convention is the world’s largest international consumer hunting show. More than 20,000 SCI members from all around the world came to the annual convention to explore the approximately 1,100 exhibitors spread over more than 600,000 square feet of the convention center floor.
For its part, Yamaha brought out its new 2008 line up of ATV and SxS vehicles. Garnering much attention was the all new Rhino 700 FI SxS that offers more power, fuel injection and new creature comforts for both the driver and passenger. Other popular attractions included the Grizzly 700 FI, the world’s first ATV with electric power steering, the Grizzly 450 and 350 IRS models and the Big Bear 400. |
The four-day show was open through Saturday, January 26, and the endless exhibits put on by hunting outfitters and outdoor product manufacturers were the main attraction. Live and silent auctions throughout the event raised money for the SCI’s conservation efforts, and at the end of each day, the SCI brought in world famous entertainment including comedians Dana Carvey and Bill Engvall as well as musical performances from The Oakridge Boys and The Beach Boys. |
