ATV - GNC MX July 13-14, 2013 | New Berlin, NY Results

Aboard his fast Yamaha YFZ450R, Chad Wienen scored the overall win with 2-1 moto finishes at the eighth round of the 2012 AMA Pro ATV motocross championship at Unadilla in New York on Saturday, July 14. Wienen’s fifth overall Pro ATV win of the season increases his lead to 29 points over rival John Natalie in the standings with just two events remaining in the season. Teammate Thomas Brown also finished fifth overall for the day with 6-5 moto finishes.

Wienen’s day at famed Unadilla was close to perfection. He was fast qualifier in the morning session, then started the first of two motos closely behind Josh Creamer, following his rival to a close second-place finish. Knowing that a win in the second moto would give him the overall, Wienen turned the tables in moto two, taking the holeshot and then leading every lap of the way over rivals Natalie and Creamer. The effort ultimately brought him the moto win, the overall win, and his fifth overall win in what’s becoming a stellar season. “Launches were key today and we were able to rip two solid starts including a holeshot,” Wienen said. Donnie Luce, Yamaha’s ATV racing coordinator, added, “This was definitely another big win for Chad and his Ryan Cox-prepared YFZ today. Now the final two races of the year are going to be exciting!”
