July 9: The Auction Winners Presentation
The winning bidders from the 50th Anniversary Auction to benefit Yamaha’s corporate charity, Feed The Children, were presented their personally autographed gear directly from the Gauloises Yamaha team duo of MotoGP World Champion Valentino Rossi, and the Texas Tornado, Colin Edwards.

The winning bid for the Valentino Rossi package was $11,100.00, with the bidder residing in Riverside, CA. The package included a brand-new set of replica #46 Dainese leathers, an AGV replica helmet, and a pair of Dainese boots that were recently worn by the World Champion.

The winning bid for the Colin Edwards package was $9,000.01 with the bidder residing in Fort Valley, GA. The package included a full set of gear worn by the American during the weekend, including Spidi leathers, his Arai Helmet, and Sidi boots and gloves.

Smash Mouth
After the auction presentation, Smash Mouth, whose Billboard top-10 hits include “All Star” and “Then The Morning Comes”, performed a free concert on a temporary stage constructed near the Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca scoring tower overlooking Turn 10.

Several Smash Mouth members, including lead singer Steve Harwell, are avid motorsports fans and the band has performed at races in the past. The eagerness to perform in such venues is due at least partly to their love for the sport.
