SNOWMOBILER
HISTORY:
• First Sled: SV80
• When did you start riding? I started
riding when I was 9 years old.
• Who got you into snowmobiling?
My father thought I would like it.
• What’s a great day of snowmobiling
to you? To me, a great day of snowmobiling is having
fresh snow on the ground.
• Favorite place to ride: Madarao
Hill Ski Resort, Japan
RACER INFO:
• First race: My first race was when
I was nine years old.
• Best race ever: My best race was
at the 2001 Winter X Games. I finished 4th overall.
• Favorite track: My favorite track
is at the X Games because it has a lot of huge jumps and
big air.
• What’s your overall racing goal?
I want to win a medal at the X Games and a season championship.
I won’t be happy until I get them.
• How would you describe your race style?
My style is a mad dash from the starting line and trying
to get out in front, in order to ride my own race.
• What is your pre-race routine?
I usually run and stretch before a race.
YAMAHA-SPECIFIC INFO:
• What do you think of the race sled so far?
This is the best sled I have seen in the past three years
we’ve been working on it. We will continue working
and testing on the sled to constantly improve it.
• Why did you choose to ride a Yamaha this
season? Because I love Yamaha. I can feel their
competitive spirit and drive to be the best every time I
ride my sled.
• What do you think are the sled’s strengths?
Engine power and torque are definitely this sled’s
strengths. The power helps the sled do what I want it to
do.
• What are your goals for the season?
My goal is to keep developing the sled for the future and
to make the finals at all the races.
• Why are you a good fit for the FX Nytro?
The engine feeling on the FX Nytro is the best, in my opinion.
It’s an absolutely new kind of feeling. In the more
than 15 years that I’ve been racing, this four stroke
engine is the most exciting.
• Describe the difference between a 2-stroke
and a 4-stroke race sled: The weight feels very
similar, but the torque makes it easy to ride. The engine
and the chassis seem to work better together on the 4-stroke
FX Nytro. |
