With our established tradition of racing and success, everyone at Yamaha is more than a little excited about our 2008 road racing effort.
Yamaha returned to the premier AMA Superbike class last year with Eric Bostrom and Jason DiSalvo leading the charge. Eric learned a lot as part of the Yamaha Factory Road Race Team’s new Superbike effort and put his YZF-R1 on the podium twice in 2007. For 2008, his road race team has worked hand in hand with Yamaha’s YZF-R1 World Superbike effort to give Eric a new, more formidable YZF-R1. Eric is looking forward to a year of winning races, with plenty of help from team manager Tom Halverson and crew chief Jim Roach.
Also returning for another season with Yamaha in AMA Superbike is multiple AMA Superstock and Supersport race winner Jason DiSalvo. Although Jason had a best finish of fourth last year, his outlook is extremely positive for 2008–and for good reason. During preseason testing on his new and improved YZF-R1, Jason was definitely right in the hunt, with some of the fastest overall times. Jefferson Burks will return as Jason’s crew chief for 2008. |
