Winning
a record eight consecutive GNCC titles has forever carved Bill
Ballance a place in ATV racing history. Now the undisputed
best GNCC ATV racer of all time, Ballance's eighth consecutive
championship breaks the previous record of seven straight set
by both Bill and the legendary Barry Hawk. Both plan to compete
aboard Yamaha’s again in 2008 – Hawk vying for another
GNCC motorcycle crown, while Ballance will again count on his
race-bred YFZ450 to help him secure an amazing 9th straight GNCC
ATV title.
As the competition continues to take aim at capturing Bill's crown,
Ballance and his award-winning YFZ450 will once again be the first
to the starting grid in 2008. The goal: Consistency and continued
success via the holeshots and top-of-the podium finishes that
have made Ballance famous in the most rigorous and demanding ATV
race series on the planet.
When you start riding at the age of four, it becomes a way of
life, as it did for Ballance. Although he began his off-road adventures
on two wheels, he soon found ATVs more to his liking and began
focusing on four wheelers at the ripe old age of seven. At 14
Bill began racing local MX races and at 18 he turned pro –
the rest, as they say, is ATV racing history.
Now, with 13 year’s of professional racing experience under
his belt, Ballance has found his home with Team Yamaha and the
history-making YFZ450.
“Being a part of the Yamaha racing family is a great feeling,”
said Ballance. “With the YFZ450 and all the support I get
from Yamaha, I’m able to really focus on racing and winning.
I look forward to taking the YFZ to the top of the podium all
season and going for another championship.”
Bill Ballance will be piloting his #1 Yamaha four-stroke YFZ450
in the 2008 AMA Grand National Cross Country (GNCC) series.
