SNOWMOBILER HISTORY:
First sled: Kitty Cat
When did you start riding? I started when I was about 2 years old. I was a young starter.
Who got you into snowmobiling? My dad and mom got me started riding. We would always go riding at our family cabin on the weekends.
What’s a great day of snowmobiling? A great day of snowmobiling to me is blue skies, 65 degrees and good snow on the ground!
Favorite place to ride: Either Whistler, BC, or in Alaska. Both have some incredible rides.

RACER INFO:
First race: I was 8 years old in Anchorage. I rode a 440 fan-cooled sled.
Best race ever: The best race I ever rode was Canterbury from last year. I felt like I rode like I should have been riding all season. I came from mid-pack and put on a 13-second gap. I really rode to my potential there.
Favorite track: I like Canterbury and Lake Geneva the best. Both of them are set up for good racing. Canterbury is nice and wide, so there are a lot of lines available to choose from. Lake Geneva is great because of the terrain changes.
What’s your overall racing goal? I want to be a top racer with consistently good finishes. Obviously I want to win some championships along the way. I also want to be known for being a good guy on and off the track.
How would you describe your race style? My style is very moto-crossy. I ride my sled like a bike. I try to find good lines. Part of that is from growing up in Alaska where we ride bikes in the warm months and sleds in the cold months. I’m a finesse rider.
What is your pre-race routine? I try to clear my head of everything else around me. I try to focus on the start, getting the best start and getting to the corner first.

YAMAHA-SPECIFIC INFO:
What do you think of the race sled so far? It’s an awesome sled. It’s super nimble with a lot of power. It’s good in the corners and on the bumps.
Why did you choose to ride a Yamaha this season? I see where Yamaha is heading and I want to be a part of that. I also see a lot of potential for getting on the podiums or winning races.
What do you think are the sled’s strengths? The power is the sled’s big strength. It pulls super hard. But the ergos of the sled are very good, too.
What are your goals for the season? My goal for the season is to win a championship and get on the podium as often as I can.
Why are you a good fit for the FX Nytro? When I sat on the sled, I felt immediately comfortable. The character of the sled fits my riding style.
Describe the difference between a 2-stroke and a 4-stroke race sled: Comparing the two kinds of sleds, I think the 2-stroke sled lacks power. There’s less low end grunt. The 4-stroke has more and better throttle response.
