Yamaha WaterCraft Launches Mobile Services to Interact With Consumers on Their Mobile Handset

Kennesaw, GA – August 6, 2009 -- Yamaha WaterCraft Group today announced the launch of two mobile services, one for WaveRunners and one for Yamaha Boats, that enable consumers to receive mobile alerts from Yamaha with the latest news, product info, new accessories and more right on their handset.

In addition, the company is launching mobile Websites for each product line that will go live in conjunction with the introduction of the company’s 2010 WaveRunners® and Boats later this month.  The mobile Websites will provide detailed product information, photos, RSS news feeds and much more.

Opting-in to the services is simple: Consumers can visit the mobile updates pages on the Yamaha Consumer Website and enter their mobile number for each product line (WaveRunner and Boat).

Or they can simply text WAVE to 70734 from their mobile phone to opt-in to the WaveRunner service or text BOAT to 70734 to opt-in to the Yamaha Boat mobile service.

According to Yamaha WaterCraft National Marketing Manager Bryan Seti, the sites are a valuable tool for connecting consumers with the Yamaha brand and keeping them abreast of compelling news.

“Consumers who are interested in our brand and our products are an incredibly passionate group of people and we wanted to explore new and exciting ways of interacting with them,” said Seti.  “The mobile handset is quickly developing into the ‘third screen’ for reaching consumers and smart phone adoption continues to grow. In the months and years to come, we will see the mobile channel become an even more important resource with greater capabilities for rich media and a dynamic user experience.”
