Great Escapes - Head out for a cruise aboard the plushiest class of PWC on the water
Excerpts from Watercraft World Magazine, March/April 2007

Long distance creature comforts are top priority in this class, and in that regard nothing matches the plush and supportive saddle of Yamaha’s FX Cruiser High Output… A tiered design also positions the passenger higher on the seat, enhancing the view over the driver’s shoulder.

Yamaha adds two other points of contact for the craft’s pilot – footwell chocks and five-position tilt steering.  The design allows the driver to be aggressive or be relaxed in a laid-back position for cruising…

…The Cruiser® approach ties in well with Yamaha’s continued emphasis on automotive inspiration.  The dash is wide and elongated with an analog speedometer center and duel digital readouts to each side.  Information displayed is right up the alley of most Cruisers® with a compass, air and water temps, and trip distance and time.

Unique to Yamaha is a fuel-flow meter, an addition that will come in handy for hard-core, long-distance riders.  A self draining cupholder and watertight stowage compartment complete the dash layout…

…Yamaha continues to excel by offering a predictable, well mannered hull design… (that’s) rock solid, always tracking straight and true.  Manual trim (the only trim option available in the class) enables riders to trim the bow.  This boat is for those who like to ride…

…The high output engine offers a boost in performance over the standard FX® fare.  At 160 horsepower, the 1052cc HO pumps out 20 more horses than the 998cc standard engine.  It produces that power by turning a relatively high 10,000 rpm.  A gear reduction harnesses that power for best results at the pump.
