Directions: From Hartwell, drive north on U.S. Hwy. 29; turn left on Ridge Road and proceed 2 miles to the park.
Misc.: Swimming, boating, water skiing and fishing at Lake Hartwell are prime reasons to visit Hart State Park in northeast Georgia. Large mouth bass, black crappie, bream, rainbow trout and wall-eyed pike can be found in the sparkling waters of this 55,590-acre reservoir. The park’s boat ramps and docks offer easy access to all water sports. Cottages and most campsites are located on the scenic lake shore.

Misc.: Located on the shores of Lake Walter F. George, this park features a 30-room lodge, conference hall, restaurant, cottages and award-winning 18-hole golf course. The park’s marina and boat ramp offer easy access to the 48,000-acre lake for fishing and boating. The large, enclosed picnic shelter and numerous picnic sites are perfect places for families to enjoy their catch.

Misc.: An 18-hole golf course with pro shop, a swimming beach on 7,000-acre Lake Blackshear and a conference retreat center make this park popular with both vacationers and locals. Several campsites are found right near the cool lake's edge.

Mistletoe State Park

Directions: Located off Ga. Hwy. 150, 7.9 miles north of I-20 exit #175.
Misc.: Located on Clarks Hill Lake near Augusta, this park is known as one of the finest bass fishing spots in the nation. During the summer, guests can cool down at the beach or on miles of shaded nature trails. Canoes and jon boats are available for rent, and a wildlife observation area is available.

Tugaloo State Park

Directions: Take I-85 exit #173 north on Georgia 17; follow park signs to Gerrard Road, turn right. Go 1.5 miles to Ga. Hwy. 328 and turn left. Proceed 3.3 miles to park; entrance on right.
Misc.: Situated on a rugged peninsula that juts into Hartwell Reservoir, Tugaloo’s cottages and campsites offer spectacular views of the water in every direction. Some cottages even have boat docks for overnight guests. Check water levels before going.
