The park is in Garrett County, ten miles northeast of Oakland on the east side of Deep Creek Lake, two miles east of Thayerville, off US Route 219.

Most of the parks visitor services are located on State Park Road along the waterfront of Deep Creek Lake. The park includes approximately 1 mile of shoreline on this, Maryland's largest lake. Access is available for fishing, swimming, and boat launching. Several picnic areas offer excellent views of the lake with easy access to the beach and other facilities. PWC can not be operated from 11am-4pm on Memorial Day weekend and every weekend between 4th of July and Labor Day.

This 786 acre park on the Chesapeake Bay offers an array of recreational activities. The marina facility includes 22 launching ramps and a concession that offers bait, tackle, fuel & fishing licenses. Rowboats and motorboats are available for rent.

The park is located along the banks of the Pocomoke River and is divided into two sections. The Shad Landing area is 3.5 miles south of Snow Hill near RT. 113. The Milburn Landing area is 7 miles northeast of Pocomoke City via RT. 364 or RT. 12.

The Shad Landing Marina has 23 boat slips with water and electrical hookups, launching ramp, lighted dock area and a fuel and transient pier. Rowboats and canoes may be rented. Milburn Landing has a launching ramp. Watch for canoers when operating.
