Bear Lake State Park

Misc.: Bear Lake is nestled high in the Rocky Mountains on the Utah-Idaho border. Waterskiing, swimming, scuba diving and sailing are favorite activities. Bear Lake Marina is on U.S. Highway 89, two miles north of Garden City. The marina to this freshwater lake provides a sheltered harbor, 80-foot wide, 5-lane, concrete launching ramp, 377 boat slips, marina sanitary disposal station, 13 campsites, group pavilion, modern rest rooms, hot showers and visitor center. A concessionaire provides boat rentals, gasoline, fishing/boating supplies and fast-food grill. Bear Lake Rendezvous Beach is on the south shore near Laketown on State Route 30. It extends for 1.25 miles and offers 136 campsites, modern rest rooms, hot showers and utility hookups. A wide, sandy beach provides excellent camping, picnicking and small watercraft activity. Bear Lake Eastside is 10 miles north of Laketown. Activities include scuba diving, boating and fishing. There are six primitive campgrounds and two, 2-lane concrete boat launching ramps.

Misc.: Warm water and predictable canyon winds make Deer Creek extremely popular for boating, wind surfing, sunbathing, swimming and sailboating. Facilities include a concrete boat launching ramp, 35-unit campground with modern rest rooms and showers, two group-use areas, sewage disposal and fish cleaning stations and paved parking area. Two concessionaires provide a restaurant, boat rentals, gasoline and sundries.

East Canyon State Park

Misc.: East Canyon Reservoir is a 680-acre boating and year-round fishing delight nestled in the mountains northeast of Salt Lake City on state routes 65 and 66. Recreationists will find a wide concrete launching ramp, paved parking area, modern rest rooms, showers, fish cleaning station and 31-unit campground with a large overflow area.

Misc.: This beautifully landscaped state park is 237 acres of boating, swimming and fishing fun. The park is located just outside Huntington on State Route 10 at the base of the Wasatch Plateau. Facilities include 22 camping units, numerous picnic sites, modern rest rooms, showers, sewage disposal station, boat launching and a large covered group-use pavilion.

Misc.: Hyrum State Park invites boating, year-round fishing, water-skiing, camping and swimming on a 450-acre lake in northern Utah. Attractions less than 15 minutes from the park include Utah State University, Mormon temple, scenic mountains and year-round fishing streams. Hardware Ranch (winter wildlife feeding ranch) is 16 miles from the park up beautiful Blacksmith Fork Canyon.

Misc.: Located on the west shore of the reservoir off U.S. Highway 40, the Hailstone facility offers boating, water sports, year-round fishing, hiking, biking, camp service center and a children's playground. Facilities include three separate camping areas, modern rest rooms, showers, utility hookups, fish cleaning and sewage disposal stations, visitor center, sandy beaches, three group-use pavilions, 41 day-use cabanas, two mini-laundromats, children's play area, two boat ramps (one ramp for personal watercraft), 80-slip marina with utility hookups, fuel dispensing, marina store, restaurant and miles of non-motorized trails.

Minersville State Park

Directions: The park is located 12 miles west of Beaver off State Route 21.
Misc.: Boating, year-round fishing and camping make Minersville State Park a popular getaway in southwestern Utah. Boat docks, launching ramp, culinary water, electric hookups, modern rest rooms with hot showers, sewage disposal and fish cleaning stations, and 29 campsites enhance recreation on and around the 1,130-acre Minersville Reservoir.

Willard Bay State Park

Directions: The north marina is 15 miles north of Ogden, just off Interstate 15. The south marina is eight miles north of Ogden.
Misc.: Willard Bay rests atop the Great Salt Lake flood plain in northern Utah. Its 9,900 acres of fresh water provide boating, watercraft riding, waterskiing and year-round fishing for crappie, walleye, wiper and catfish. Camping also is popular at the park. Two state-owned facilities are available to recreationists. The park has 62 campsites, modern rest rooms, hot showers, sewage disposal station, seasonal/transient boat slip rentals and sandy beaches. The south marina is open April through October and provides boat launching, seasonal boat slip rentals, and modern rest rooms.

Yuba State Park

Directions: Yuba State Park is 30 miles south of Nephi, just off Interstate 15.
Misc.: Warm water and sandy beaches lure visitors to Yuba from April through November for boating, watercraft riding, swimming, waterskiing, picnicking and year-round fishing. Facilities include a 27-unit campground, modern rest rooms, hot showers, drinking water, sewage disposal station, group-use pavilion and boat launching ramp. An additional boat launching ramp and primitive campground are located on the east side of the reservoir at Painted Rocks, 15 miles south of Levan just off Highway 28.

Steinaker State Park

Directions: The park is seven miles north of Vernal, just off Utah Highway 191 in northeastern Utah.

Utah Lake State Park

Directions: Travel south on 1-15 to Provo Center Street exit 268B. Travel west on Center Street 2 miles to the end of Center Street. Park is located at end of road.
Misc.: The state park provides major access to the 96,600-acre lake for power boating, sailing, canoeing or kayaking. Facilities include four boat launching ramps, sheltered 30-acre marina, 78 seasonal/transient boat slips, modern rest rooms, showers, 71 campsites, a fishing area for the disabled, and sewage disposal and fish cleaning stations. Note: Check Utah mandatory education requirements before you go.

Rockport State Park

Scofield State Park

Directions: Scofield State Park is off U.S. Highway 6, just 10 miles southwest on State Route 96.
Misc.: It is situated 7,600 feet above sea level in the Manti-LaSal Mountains of the Wasatch Plateau. The 2,800-acre lake offers excellent boating and year-round fishing. Three state-owned facilities are available for recreationists. Mountain View, located six miles north of Scofield, offers a 34-unit campground, modern rest rooms, hot showers, fish cleaning and sanitary disposal stations, day-use area, rental boat slips and boat launching ramp. Madsen Bay, located on the north end of the reservoir, is a popular area for groups and family reunions. Facilities include a 40-unit campground, modern rest rooms, fish cleaning and sanitary disposal stations, boat ramp and parking. Lakeside day-use area offers modern rest rooms, group-use pavilion and a fishing platform for the disabled.

Misc.: Quail Creek State Park provides excellent year-round camping, picnicking, boating, and watercraft riding in sunny southwest Utah. Facilities include 23 campsites, modern rest rooms, fish cleaning station and two covered group-use pavilions. Boat restrictions/ capacity limit: Odd/even restriction on weekends/holidays from May 1 through Labor Day. Capacity limit of 709 (in effect year round).

Red Fleet State Park
